Versailles Palace was built by Henry 14th who called himself the Sun God. Sun because all life comes from it and it is bright and everything revolves around it. He was super rich, so the palace he built himself has intricate details and remarkable architecture. He sucked as a King because His wife, Mary Antoinette, and he didn't care that the rich were getting richer, and the poor were getting more poor.
The common people got pissed.
Royal Family decided to flee in the night out of France.
They got caught at the border.
Next day the king got his head chopped off in front of all the people.
3 days later, the queen got hers chopped off.
Thats when democracy introduced itself to France.
Viola.

Gorgeous shots from France, and nice summation of democracy introducing itself - fantastic last sentence!
Fav pic: the detail of the window (upstairs?) with the roughcast finish ... seen lots of other shots of the Sun palace, but none showing a little bit of behind the scenes.

Not to many Waiheke people with annual passes to Disneyland Paris, I bets!
